Auston Matthews makes Steve Simmons look like an idiot after stupid question this morning
The way he says “Steeeeeeve” is killing me lol
Another season of NHL hockey begins and with it comes another season of ridiculous reporting from Toronto Sun reporter Steve Simmons.
The embattled reporter who has had his run-ins with Toronto sports stars like Auston Matthews, Jose Bautista and Phil Kessel, mostly because he just lives to stir the pot. Which is exactly what he did today. The problem this time around was that Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews wasn't having any of it.
Simmons asked a rambling question to Matthews today that essentially tried to get Matthews to state that he feels he's underpaid compared to other pro athletes, but Matthews wasn't taking the bait.
From what I can hear the question is, "Steph Curry signed a new deal, about $60 million a year... (Shohei) Ohtani's at $70 million. Are elite hockey players underpaid for what they bring to the table?"
Matthews' answer is just dripping with discontent for Simmons.
Check it out:
That forehead rub combined with his "Steeeeeeve", absolutely says it all for me.
Good job, captain Matthews! Don't let this scrub drag you down into the mud!
