Auston Matthews goes for “The Michigan” lacrosse goal but gets shut down with a beautiful save!
That's the way to play it! Goalies take note!
Toronto Maple Leafs captain has been on fire lately, piling up five goals in his last four games, but tonight he tried to take things to a whole new level.
Matthews attempted "The Michigan" lacrosse style goal tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning but was shut down perfectly by Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson.
Check it out:
Excellently played by Matthews, but even better played by Johansson. Traditionalists may not like it, but that's just fantastic, high level hockey right there. The league's best goal scorer tries a ridiculously creative move only to get stuffed by a sharp goaltender. That's hockey, baby!
