This just in, according to a Russian language report from the Novogorod Gazette, New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin has found himself in trouble with Russian police after he was discovered shooting a gun illegally.
According to the report Panarin was fined and had his gun confiscated for discharging it in an 'non-designated area' back in July. The report reads that "the defendant committed a gross violation of public safety, threatening the life and health of citizens. However, taking into account the circumstances mitigating administrative responsibility (Artemiy Panarin pleaded guilty and committed such an offense for the first time), the Borovichi District Court found him guilty of committing an accident and imposed an administrative penalty on him in the form of a fine of 40 thousand rubles with confiscation of the gun".
Early reports are that Panarin has elected not to appeal the judgement and will pay his fine.
