The Tampa Bay Lightning failed to achieve their goal of winning a third consecutive Stanley Cup on Sunday night when they fell to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.
It was a tough loss for the Lightning who were clearly not happy with the state of the officiating throughout the game, but much to their credit the Lightning showed tremendous class when it was all said and done. The Lightning players and coaching staff were all very gracious in the loss and many of them seemed genuinely happy for members of the Avalanche in spite of their own sorrows at failing to achieve their ultimate goal.
It wouldn't be until the Lightning had exited the ice that we would see the true state of their emotions come through however, and perhaps no one was more emotional than goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. The talented Russian netminder exploded in rage as the Lightning entered the tunnel, picking up objects that were lying around and smashing them against the wall.
Unfortunately the broadcast quickly cut away from Vasilevskiy's explosion so we didn't get to see a great deal of it, but I imagine the situation back in the locker room may have been even more explosive.
