The Seattle Kraken have confirmed the worst.

On Monday morning, the Kraken confirmed that veteran forward Andre Burakovsky would miss as much as two months of action after he was injured on a hit from New York Rangers forward Jacob Trouba during a game between the Kraken and Rangers that took place this past Saturday.

Burakovsky suffered what remains an undisclosed upper-body injury and the Kraken confirmed that he has since had successful surgery to repair the damage that was done. Burakovsky will now miss the next six to eight weeks as he works to recover from the injury, a big blow to the Kraken this early on in the regular season.

Burakovsky was injured on Saturday night when he was driven hard into the boards by Rangers' captain Jacob Trouba. Burakovsky was immediately showing signs of injury as he got back to his feet and he quickly skated off the ice following the hit.

Trouba was penalized on the play but that will be of little consolation for the Kraken who have now lost the forward for a considerable length of time.
