According to a report from Ottawa Senators insider Bruce Garrioch, Hollywood actor and Canadian native Ryan Reynolds has officially joined a consortium group with intentions on purchasing the Ottawa Senators NHL franchise.
From Garrioch's most recent column for The Ottawa Sun:
- Bruce Garrioch
The Senators have been seeking a new owner this season, following the passing of long-time owner Eugene Melnyk in March, 2022. The team is currently owned and operated by Melnyk's daughters Anna (23) and Olivia (20).

Personally, I'd love to see it.
The more star power involved in the game, the better.
And I know it's in poor taste to speak ill of the dead, but this team deserves a committed owner after years and years of enduring Melnyk and his penny pinching ways.
