His playing days are not over after all.

It was an absolutely crazy story last month, as now-former Arizona Coyotes forward Alex Galchenyuk found himself in a world of legal issues and plain embarrassment after threatening police officers during a traffic stop.

According to the report, Galchenyuk referred to his Russian connections while threatening “I’m gunna chop you, your wife, your daughter” and “One phone call and you’re all dead, your whole family, your blood line is dead,” towards the officers. Immediately afterward, the Coyotes terminated Galchenyuk's contract after placing him on unconditional waivers.

He would show remorse for his actions and issue the following apology soon afterward.

"My actions after drinking alcohol were not representative of who I am, but I must take responsibility for them and I hope to one day be able to show you that I am a better person than who you sadly encountered last week. What all of you do, putting your lives on the line to protect and serve others, is nothing short of selfless and heroic. I appreciate and respect each of you and I want you to know I will work on myself every day with the goal of one day being able to make amends and to try to earn your forgiveness."

And it looks as though his playing days are going to be continuing after all, but not in the NHL. According to a report, he'll be heading back overseas and signing with Spartak Moscow of the KHL.

Can he earn some redemption in the KHL?
