The Toronto Maple Leafs have featured a popular tune from American pop duo Hall and Oates since the beginning of the 2018-19 NHL season as their goal song, their classic "You Make My Dreams" from their 9th studio album "Voices" in 1980.
But is it time for a change? According to superstar forward Auston Matthews, the time may be right. During an appearance on the "Tim and Friends" podcast, Matthews hinted that he wouldn't mind hearing a new song following a goal at Scotiabank Arena - maybe even something from Ontario native and Maple Leafs super fan pop star Justin Bieber.
"I don't know, I wouldn't mind hearing something different maybe and switching it up," he said last year. "Maybe a little Biebs, maybe switch it up and see if we can get something else going and go on a nice little run. I'm always open to change, but if they want to stick with the same one, I'm fine as well."
And now, even more suggestions are coming through. Take a look at these suggestions from Nick Barden of The Hockey News:
3. Edge's WWE Walkout Song (Metalingus - Alter Bridge)
2: Hold on - Justin Bieber
1. Knocking At The Door - Arkells
What should the new Leafs goal song be if they do indeed decide to make a change?
