3 NHL GMs spotted at game with signs of possible monster trade with Canucks!

There are a lot of rumours and chatter on the drama around the Vancouver Canucks with the apparent feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson in the spotlight, with reports hinting at the possibility of seeing one of the two star forwards on the move.

The Canucks might have to choose between Miller and Pettersson and rival teams are well too aware of that. On Friday, chatter got louder when three top general managers, Pittsburgh Penguins’ Kyle Dubas, Utah’s Bill Armstrong and Boston Bruins’ Don Sweeney were spotted at the Laval Rocket’s game against Vancouver’s AHL farm club, the Abbotsford Canucks.

While some fans wonder if the GMs could be looking at some of the Montreal Canadiens’ prospects, many more are thinking about the pressing possibility of a trade in Vancouver, possibly including Miller or Pettersson, and perhaps some added pieces for a blockbuster move.

According to team play-by-play announcer Anthony Marcotte, this is one of the rare times NHL executives are in Laval to watch a Rocket's game this closely.

Pettersson’s deal pays him $11.6 million annually, over $3.5 million more than what Miller makes the next few seasons. His No-Movement Clause doesn’t activate until next season and so teams might be targeting Pettersson.

On top of that, recent chatter indicated that Miller is only interested in moving back to the New York Rangers.

Think of the return a team might be willing to part with to acquire Pettersson or Miller. This would be huge and now, seeing three GMs at this AHL game is only feeding the rumours.

Miller and Pettersson might have extremely different personalities, but they are probably both perfectionists and looking for success. And so they should remember that, as of now, since they are teammates, they can’t win without each other.
