Must see: Flyers wasted no time to open the scoring!
Keystone Press

The Philadelphia Flyers wasted no time to open the scoring against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night! Jordan Weal made it 1-0 Philadelphia when he scored his sixth goal of the season after 2:06 played in the first period, when he redirected a point shot by Radko Gudas. The Rangers are currently leading 3-1 after the first period.

Drafted 70th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2010, Weal was acquired via trade by the Flyers in 2016 in a deal that sent defenseman Luke Schenn and forward Vincent Lecavalier to LA. He played 74 games in the NHL with the Kings and the Flyers so far, scoring 13 goals and 12 assists for a total of 25 points. Before tonight's game, the 25-year old forward had five goals and eight assists for a total of 13 points in 37 games played. At the AHL level, the North Vancouver, BC native scored 83 goals and 164 assists for a total of 247 points in 291 games played (regular season and playoffs included).

The Flyers are currently seventh in the Metropolitan division with a record of 20-15-8.
