Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green confirmed that defenseman Chris Tanev will be back in the lineup tonight to face the Columbus Blue Jackets! He missed the last two games after he received a puck to the face against the Toronto Maple Leafs last week. Coach Green also confirmed that goaltender Jakob Markstrom will get the start tonight, as the Canucks will try to stop their five game losing streak.

Tanev played 27 games so far this season, registering six points and four penalty minutes. He signed as an undrafted free agent with Vancouver organization in 2010. In 375 games played in the NHL so far, the 28-year old defenseman registered 81 points, and added three points in 16 playoff games.

Markstrom, 27, started 31 games with the Canucks so far this season, posting a record of 10-14-5 with a goal-against average of 2.77 and a .908 save percentage. Drafted 31st overall by the Florida Panthers in 2008, Markstrom was acquired via trade by the Canucks in 2014, in a deal that sent Roberto Luongo to the Panthers. He owns a record of 46-67-17 in 138 starts in the NHL so far, with a 2.88 goal-against average and a .906 save percentage.

The Canucks are currently seventh in the Pacific division with a record of 16-21-6. The Blue Jackets are second in the Metropolitan division with a record of 25-17-3. Markstrom will face Sergei Bobrovsky, who is expected to get the start for Columbus.

Vancouver will still be without forwards Bo Horvat (fractured ankle) and Brandon Sutter (upper-body injury).
