Washington Capitals star forward T.J. Oshie was injured after an unfortunate series of events, last night. The Caps faced off against the San Jose Sharks and Oshie was engaged in a tough battle in the corner when he took a vicious hit to the head from veteran Joe Thornton.
It is hard to say the Thornton will be suspended or fined for his one as he delivered the hit to Oshie while the Capitals top forward was falling to his knees as a result of his battle in the corner for the puck. Still his head being crushed between Thornton's butt and the boards and the poor Oshie was left motionless on the ice, for a long time.
On Tuesday, the team revealed that Oshie was now out with an upper-body injury, and would be re-evaluated on a day to day basis, as he missed the club's practice.
