There are credible reports of friction between one of Montreal's brightest young stars and head coach Michel Therrien.

According to Martin Lemay and Eric Belanger two analysts for RDS, the French language equivalent of TSN or ESPN, the relationship between Therrien and Alex Galchenyuk has reached a boiling point with neither man being able to stand the other.

Lemay stated that during practice today Therrien focused a cold stare on Galchenyuk the entire time, while Belnager added that the two men have never had the best relationship and that now Therrien seems to have an especially short temper when it comes to the young forward.

What makes this friction so interesting is all the rumors of Montreal looking to add a star level forward, Ryan Johansen or Steven Stamkos, at the top of that list, and a 21 year old who's having a career year with 21 points in 32 games, has a year left on his deal, and would be an RFA at the end of it like Galchenyuk would be a huge trading chip.
