Player receives two year ban after brutal crosscheck on defenseless player.
A huge ban after a vicious attack.

A Swedish league has come down extremely hard on one of it's players, and although it's a crushing ban, his actions certainly warranted a harsh penalty.
Viktor Thomasson, is not a child, he's a 23 year old defenseman playing under the Swedish Ice hockey Federation, the governing body that late last week announced it had banned Thomasson for two full years as a result of a vicious crosscheck he delivered to fellow player Tommy Latouche-Gauvin, earlier this month. Thomasson's ban is from all professional sports, not just hockey.
Again the penalty may seem harsh, but the video below may change your perspective on things. In the video Thomasson charges up to a kneeling Gauvin who never sees him coming, and delivers a full force crosscheck to the head and neck area of Latouche-Gauvin who could have been seriously injured the play, but thankfully escaped with just minor injuries.
